This policy covers how Space-Time Research Pty Ltd and its affiliated entities (collectively referred to as “STR”) treats Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) that STR collects and receives, including information related to your past use of STR products and services and including information collected through your use of the website where this Privacy Policy is posted (the “Site”). PII is information about you that can be traced directly back to, and identifies, you. PII includes your name, address, employer, email address, and phone number.

By using this Site, you signify your assent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use this Site. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time, so please bookmark this page and check back periodically to ensure that you are aware of any changes. Your continued use of this Site signifies your acceptance of any changes.

Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to PII collected or received by STR, including through software purchase and installation or visitation to the Site including through use of any online forums we may host at the Site. STR and its affiliated entities are collectively referred to in this Privacy Policy as “STR,” “we,” “us” or the “Site.” It is important for you to understand this because STR allows you to navigate away from the Site, to websites controlled by third parties (which may also collect your PII), including those of our partners and sponsors. When you leave the Site, our Privacy Policy no longer applies and you should review any privacy policies applicable to the third party website.

The information we collect

STR collects personal information when you register with STR, or when you purchase, install or use STR products or services. In doing so, you may provide us with your name, e-mail address, phone number, address, and other information. Whenever you visit the Site, STR also receives and records information from your browser, including your IP address, cookie information, and the pages you request, and may relate it to your PII. STR uses this information for the following purposes: to fulfill your requests for products and services, to improve our products and services, to contact you, to conduct research, and to provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients. Once you have registered or have purchased STR products, we reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to STR, such as service announcements, administrative messages and the STR Newsletter. You may opt-out of receiving communications from us, but doing so may made it hard for us to support and update your STR products.

How we use PII

We use PII for operational and Service-related purposes only. STR does not rent, sell, or share PII with nonaffiliated companies, except to provide products or services you’ve requested, including to companies who work on behalf of or with STR. These companies may use your PII to provide products or services you’ve requested or to help STR communicate with you about offers from STR and our marketing partners.

We may disclose PII in response to legal process, for example, in response to a court order or a subpoena. We also may disclose PII in response to a law enforcement agency’s request, or where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Service or License Agreements, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our products and applicable laws, or as otherwise required or permitted by law or consistent with legal requirements. In addition, we may transfer PII if we or one of our business units are acquired by, sold to, or merged with another company.

Cookies, web beacons and internet protocol addresses

Our Site uses a software technology called “cookies.” Cookies are small text files that we place in visitors’ computer browsers to store their preferences. Cookies themselves do not contain any personally identifiable information. “Web beacons” are small pieces of code placed on a web page to monitor the behavior and collect data about the visitors viewing a web page. For example, web beacons can be used to count the users who visit a web page or to deliver a cookie to the browser of a visitor viewing that page. We use web beacons on our Site for this purpose. You may disable cookies by adjusting the preferences on your browser, but if you do so you will not be able to use the Site and Services.

An Internet protocol (“IP”) address is the unique number assigned to your server or Internet Service Provider (“ISP”). STR tracks such IP addresses to administer the Site, to understand and analyze trends, to learn about user behavior on the site, and to gather and report demographic information about visitors to the Site, site tracking, or to prevent our servers from being abused.

Collection of PII by third-party sites

STR allows you to navigate away from the Site, to websites controlled by third parties (which may also collect your PII), including those of our partners and sponsors. When you leave the Site, our Privacy Policy no longer applies and you should review any privacy policies applicable to the third party website. We may, but will not be obliged to, provide a notice warning users when they are leaving the Site.

How we secure PII

We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard PII and help prevent loss, theft, and unauthorized access, and to maintain data security and integrity.

For orders placed on our Site, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption a technology that automatically encrypts information while it is being transmitted over the Internet. To place an order on our Site, your browser must support SSL.

Use of online forums

We may offer you the ability to post information and exchange ideas on online forums hosted on the Site. We caution you not to disclose any PII as part of your posts, even if requested to do so by other posters. Also, you must not post any inappropriate content (including content that may infringe another’s rights (including intellectual property rights) or be defamatory, harmful, offensive, contrary to law, or otherwise in violation of this policy). STR will not be responsible in the event that you disclose PII or other inappropriate content in your posts or during any other communication with other Site users. You acknowledge and agree that content provided by others (“Other User Content”) may include content owned by independent content providers (including other users), and licensed to us. You must evaluate, and bear the risk associated with, the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any Other User Content. We do not pre-screen Other User Content or any content provided by you, as a matter of policy, but we reserve the right, but do not undertake the responsibility, to remove without notice to you, Other User Content or any content provided by you at any time that we deem, at our discretion, to contain PII or be inappropriate. We may also deregister your account or block your access to the Site in connection with such activity.

What to do if you want to correct or review your PII

We will provide you with, or correct, your PII as soon as practicable after receiving any request from you to do so (provided that you give proof of identity).

How we may update our Privacy Policy

From time to time, we may change our Privacy Policy, including to allow us to use PII in ways not previously disclosed in our Privacy Policy.
